    Vietnam FAQS

Do I need visa to enter Vietnam?

For citizens holding passports from countries like Australia, New Zealand, India, the USA, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, Mauritius, Iceland, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, and Italy... We provide a FREE "Visa Approval Letter" for entry into Vietnam. Upon arrival, you can use this letter to obtain a "Visa On Arrival," with passport stamping completed directly at international airports. For Cambodia, you can either apply for a visa online before departure or obtain it directly at the border or at an international airport upon arrival.

Where can I exchange my currency for local currency?

Currency can be exchanged at airports, banks, or shops licensed to sell gold, where exchange rates are quite similar. It’s advised to avoid street moneychangers to prevent the risk of receiving counterfeit notes.

What is the weather like in Vietnam?

Vietnam’s climate is hot and humid, causing visitors from temperate regions to sweat more. Drinking plenty of water and sun protection are crucial. The northern area, including Hanoi, experiences cold winters from January to March, with a damp and clammy atmosphere exacerbating the cold.

Is unrestricted travel possible within Vietnam?

Travel is somewhat restricted; certain areas are off-limits for security reasons, and others require permits. FiveE Travel handles all necessary paperwork and permissions for its travellers.

Is it easy to find vegetarian food in Vietnam?

Vietnam is one of the most vegetarian-friendly countries in the world. Vegan dishes can be more challenging to find (as Vietnamese love their fish sauce) but desserts are often vegan by default.

    Is Vietnam safe to travel?

Vietnam is a popular Asian destination for travelers around the world. However, many of those same travelers wonder if it’s safe to travel to Vietnam. The answer is yes. As long as you don’t try to ride a scooter through its major cities, Vietnam is a safe, fascinating destination with much to see, try, and taste. The country also rank poorly for theft, nighttime safety, and LGBTQ+ safety.

How can we sort out the tipping?

Tipping isn't compulsory or customary in Vietnam, but it is always appreciated. If you're happy with the services provided by tourguides, waiters, drivers and other service workers, leaving a small tip is a good way to show your appreciation.
